So I called the doctor. No one called me back. We prayed and waited for two days.
Wednesday I apprehensively went to my ultrasound. When the technician brought me into the room I said as calmly as I could, "Now, do you have any notes about why, exactly, they need this second ultrasound?" He said, "Hmm... let me see.... Oh, it says here that "Baby B" was in a bad position and the images received weren't as clear as we'd like them." Huge sigh of relief. Then for 15 minutes he rubbed the magic wand all over my jelly slathered tummy and took copious amounts of pictures. The girls were incredibly active and it was hilarious to feel their kicks and watch their kicks at the same time.
Then it happened. The technician moved over to the left side of my tummy so we could see the lip of "Baby B". "Baby A" has her feet right by "Baby B's" face and vice-versa and throughout the ultrasound I'd realized "Baby A" is much more active than "Baby B". Her's are the kicks I feel most often. Right at the moment that we found "Baby B's" face, "Baby A" kicked her a good one right in the jaw! I gasped! Not only did I feel it, but I was watching their in-utero fight. "Baby B" turned her face and tried nuzzling deeper into my side. I thought, "Oh, my sweet little peace-keeper!" and then "Baby A" booted her again! Heaven sakes! The technician zoomed-out and suddenly "Baby B" decided she'd had enough, mustered all her strength, and kicked "Baby A" in the face. I burst out laughing!
Our little girls have spunk and I'm already loving it.
Notes:
- "Baby A" and "Baby B" are their medical names. "Baby A" is positioned to come out first and that's how the medical personnel differentiate between our kidlets.
- The girls' real names are still Baby A and Baby M.
- The radiologist said that the girls look strong and healthy and nothing was amiss.
