I feel inclined to begin with that disclaimer since it seems to be the first thing certain family members, ahem, Steve, ahem, inquire whenever I call them. This is actually much different news.
T just got a new job in Roseville, California!
We're very excited about this great opportunity for our family. T's current job is for a huge company that handles government contracts. (Insert your own jokes about working for the government here.) His new job is for a small company that manufactures equipment for the beverage industry. T is anxiously awaiting his new job starting on September 15th, but we have plenty to do to keep us busy until then. You know, small stuff like finishing and selling our house and buying a new house and moving. Details, details.
I'm sad to be further away from my family, especially further from my mom, but I'm also excited about the new opportunities this job affords us: no more snowy, freezing winters, greater access to cultural enjoyments, comfortable year-round outdoor recreation, better restaurants, closer to T's family, etc.
We've got a wild ride ahead of us. We'll keep you posted.
